2006-12 NISSAN VERSA |
1. This install is one of the easier automotive tasks you will ever do. You will need your new shift boot, working hands, and a flat bladed screwdriver. I used a Swiss Army knife because it was handy. The pictures are shown without the original boot, but trust me, the original is ugly. |
2. Start by pulling off the Shift knob. Simply grab it and pull up, HARD. It will come off. Be careful not to hit yourself in the face as you pull it off. |
3. The retaining ring is a plastic piece that holds the bottom of the boot in place. In should pull up easily by hand, at least on the first side. Start with one edge and pull up by hand, and gently work it up. A flat bladed screwdriver can be helpful in releasing the tabs, that hold it down. |
4. Remove the boot from the Shaft. The top is held on with an o-ring, and is tightly held on. you can use the screwdriver to help inch the o-ring part up the shaft. Reinstall the new boot in the reverse order of removal. |

Useful tip You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking. |
