1. Unscrew factory shift knob, counterclockwise. Lift out shift boot and its retainer ring as one piece. It is held on by 4 pressure clips. The  easiest way is to feel for the oval part of the trim ring and grab that. Pull up!

2. Remove factory vinyl boot from the trim ring. Be
careful to not break the clips on the factory ring.

3. Turn the boot inside out and remove the round cap
from the factory boot. With the new boot, turn it inside out, and insert the plastic cap, with the concave side facing up. You might need to stretch the leather a little for it to fit. Then use a zip tie to hold the cap in place.

4. Pull the new leather boot over the factory trim ring, it will take some work because of the unusual factory design. You may or may not have to enlarge the slits in the leather to clear the factory clips. If that is needed, use a very sharp razor blade to do so. Reinstall the boot in the center console.

5. The ebrake boot is a simple slip-on. Just slide it over the stock plastic handle. Wider end first, obviously. :)

Useful tip

You have installed a product made out of genuine leather. As you know, to maintain a leather product in good condition, you should take care of it. We suggest occasionally (every 4-6 week for example) applying some leather conditioner/UV protector to keep your leather from drying up in the sun and cracking.
