1. To change the shifter boot the console must be removed. The process is very easy. There are 8 screws that must be removed using a cross point screwdriver: 3 screws are on each side of the console (front, middle and back) Middle and back screws will require moving the seats forward and back 2 screws inside the storage compartment on the bottom.
2. Remove the small plastic piece under the handbrake by putting your thumb under and pulling up as shown to the right:
3. The piece just snaps out.

4. Remove the shifter knob by unscrewing it from the shaft. Turn the knob counter clockwise to remove.
5. Once these steps have been completed you can lift the front of the console (you may have to pull it back a little) and slide it off the shifter. The emergency brake handle may have to pulled up so it will slide through it opening. |

6. Filp the console over to see where the boot is attached. If you pull on boot it will snap out of the plastic clips that are holding it in place.
7. Snap the new boot in place in the bottom of the console.
8. Slide the console back in place guiding the boot over the shifter.
9. Replace and tighten the 8 screws.
10. Snap the plastic piece under the emergency brake handle back in place.
11. Screw the shifter knob back on turning clockwise until tight. Do not over tighten. You should be able to get snug with handle markings in the correct orientation |
